5-10-5 Agility Shuttle
This test measures your change-of-direction speed, highlighting your ability to maintain control of your body through rapid changes of speed and direction.
TEST PROTOCOLSBegin in a neutral 'athletic' stance with your weight evenly distributed over your body's midline, feet straddling start line, and your forward hand touching the cone marking the center, or start, line. You will hold this stance for three seconds prior to starting your movement.
Sprint to either end-line 5 yards away, touching your hand down to the line, NOT the cone marking end-line.
Reverse your direction, and run to the opposite end-line 10 yards away and touch that line with your hand.
Reverse your direction again, and sprint through the start/finish line extending from the middle cone.
DISQUALIFICATIONSAgility Shuttle times are disqualified and not counted if:
You fail to touch each end-line with your hand. It's okay if you reach and touch beyond end-line, but this will extend your shuttle time.
You start the shuttle and do not complete the shuttle.
Your times are also not recorded if there is any timing system or hand-timing malfunction that has cast doubt on the your results.
Note:You will receive a warning after your first disqualification and be allowed to redo the shuttle. Any additional shuttles in which you do not complete shuttle as instructed will result in a DQ with no opportunity for redo.
