This past Saturday, Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer Street played host to a very special presentation. The King of Air Force 1’s Clark Kent worked with Nike’s Innovation Kitchen to make two very special shoes for some pretty serious Air Force 1 collectors in their own right- Kevin Hunter and Mayor. Both shoes were surprise gifts and caught Kevin and Mayor completely off-guard. The looks on their faces were priceless.

With the help of the Nike Sportswear Bespoke designers, Izzy and Mau, these shoes were designed to tell 2 very different stories unique to Kevin and Mayor. Their designs went to an incredible level of detail involving the materials, colors, custom laser details and one of a kind boxes to match.

Kevin Hunter loves his Bentley. This Air Force 1 was made to match it exactly. The color is a perfect match, the pattern on the vamp looks just like a Bentley grill and there are Bentley logos laser etched into the side and back of each shoe. Even the box, bearing the Bentley logo on top, is made of wood that matches the wood inside of Kevin’s Bentley.





Mayor has been building an impressive Air Force 1 collection for years. This shoe anticipates his 1,000th pair by adding a laser etched detail of literally 1,000 “1’s” all over the shoe. The swoosh and heel tab are made out of a glow-in-the-dark material, with the heel tab also featuring laser etched “MAYOR” on the right shoe and “1,000” on the left shoe.
