One of the most accomplished golfers of his generation, Bob Tway was introduced to golf at the age of 5, by his father and grandfather, and played in his first tournament at age 7. After a distinguished career at Oklahoma State University where he was a first-team All-American his last three years, he turned professional in 1981 and joined the PGA Tour in 1985. In 1986 he was named PGA Player of the Year after chalking up four victories, including a memorable PGA Championship victory over Greg Norman, where he holed a greenside bunker shot on the final hole. He currently lives in Oklahoma, and enjoys skiing and fishing. Bob’s son, Kevin, won the 2005 U.S. Junior Amateur on his 17th birthday; his brother, Scott, caddies for PGA Tour player Scott Verplank.
