April Holmes is an inspirational world-class athlete who holds the honor of being the first female member of Team Jordan. She is the current 100m, 200m and 400m sprint world record holder in the women's T44 classification for athletes with single-leg disabilities. Her long list of accomplishments includes a 2004 long jump bronze in Athens; 100m and 200m gold at the 2006 world championships; and 100m gold in Beijing in 2008. Off the track, her April Homes Foundation assists people with physical and developmental disabilities.
