  1. How do I submit photos of the project to the foundation?

    Photos must be uploaded to our online photo album. Go to www.Shutterfly.com. Log in using: jf@compass-consult.org. Password: Grants. PLEASE do not order photos from this website. Your credit card and mailing information is not secure and will be accessible to all who use this online photo album.

  2. What is the deadline for applications to be submitted?

    The online application opens on February 1 and closes at midnight on April 15.

    Grants are awarded each year in September.

  4. What types of schools are eligible?

    Eligible schools must be public schools with 50% of their student population eligible for free and reduced lunch. All public schools (regular, district, regional, charter, pilot, special and alternative) are eligible to apply for a grant. AT this time we are not accepting proposals from non-US schools.

  5. What types of activities are eligible for funding?

    Any activity that a teacher proposes is eligible for funding if it impacts student success. Proposals requesting 100% funding for teacher professional development will not be prioritized.

  6. Are Jordan Fundamental Grant awards given to the school or the teacher?

    Grants are awarded to the school for the restricted use on the project the grant application names. The monies must be spent within the academic year for which they were awarded or returned to the Jordan Fundamentals Grant Program. You may send a check to Jordan Fundamentals c/o Compass Consulting 26 Sunnyside Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.

  7. What happens to the grant if the lead applicant leaves the original school?

    Funds will stay at the original school if a new lead teacher is identified. Otherwise funds are returned to Jordan Fundamentals. The grant will remain at the school and a new leader will be assigned by the principal. The new lead teacher's name and contact information must be updated in the Jordan Fundamentals database and will be responsible for all subsequent reporting on the grant.

  9. Can the Jordan Fundamentals website save my proposal so I can print it out later?

    Many school districts and building administrators require that you provide a copy of your proposal once it has been submitted to Jordan Fundamentals. It is your responsibility to print out a copy or save a version on your computer for future reference.

    Yes. You will have access to your proposal application and the ability to update all contact information throughout the year by logging into your account at www.jordanfundamentals.com and following the prompts to log in through the application button.

    Money that is not spent during the academic year assigned to the grant must be returned to the Jordan Fundamentals Grant Program. You may send a check to Jordan Fundamentals c/o Compass Consulting 26 Sunnyside Street, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.

  12. Who can apply for an Inspiration Grant?

    Any teacher who has received an Innovation ($2500) grant in the past may apply for an INSPIRATION grant ($10,000). The project should be an expansion of the previous grant and involve a team of teachers.

  13. How many steps are involved in applying for an Inspiration Grant?

    There is only one step in applying for an Inspiration Grant. Please begin with the eligibility quiz provided with the online application. If you are eligible for an Inspiration Grant you will be given the option to apply for either type of grant. If you are not eligible for an Inspiration Grant the eligibility quiz will direct you to the Innovation application.

  15. How much money is awarded for the Inspiration Grants?

    Medium-sized grants, averaging $10,000 may be awarded to teams of teachers to support scaling-up the implementation of approaches developed with Innovation Grants that hold promise for scalability and being replicated.

  16. If I ask for more than $10,000 for the Inspiration grant will my application be considered?

    We will consider your application if it exceeds $10,000. Please note that we will weigh heavily the appropriateness of your funding request to the types of activities your project is proposing.

  17. What is the grant amount for the Innovation Grants?

    Small sized grants - A minimum of 200 small grants, averaging $2500, are awarded to individual teachers to support the development of more effective approaches or more effective implementation of traditional strategies to engage students and foster improved outcomes.

    If you apply for an Innovation Grant your application will be disqualified if you request more or less than $2500.

    Be as specific as you can be with the budget detail. Applications will be reviewed for the appropriateness of the budget to the proposed project. Quotes for equipment are suggested.

  21. Can a non-profit apply for a Jordan Fundamentals Grant?

    Jordan Fundamentals is a grant program for teachers in public schools. If you project utilizes services from a local non-profit, the application must be generated by the school in order to be eligible.

  22. What if my Innovation Grant is different from the Inspiration Grant idea that I have?

    Your Inspiration Grant must have some connection to the previously funded grant. Innovation grants are provided for you to experiment with an idea for your classroom. Inspiration Grants are intended to strengthen the previously funded program and involve multiple teachers and more students.

  23. Do I have any reporting responsibilities if I receive a Jordan Fundamentals Grant?

    Recipients for all levels of grants are required to file, electronically, a mid-year and final report detailing the use of funds and lessons results. Jordan reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program. Jordan Fundamentals expects that grantees will maintain a copy of all submissions.
