A shifty athlete with great explosiveness, Al-Farouq
Aminu is a threat to score in a number of ways. He
is considered by some to be the top small forward
in the class of 2008. He shoots with range; pulls
up well off the dribble and can dunk with
authority in traffic. Aminu loves to get out in
transition and finish with high flying dunks. He
is very long and athletic which gives him the
ability to post up or beat his man off the
dribble. With
his body still developing, Aminu will only get
stronger on the defensive end of the ball. With a
72 wingspan, he can play both forward
positions and is a ferocious rebounder. Aminu will
attend
Wake
Forest
in the fall.

William Buford plays the game at one speed and
one speed only; fast. He has a body built for
contact and enjoys driving to the lane looking to
draw the foul. Buford can put up points in a hurry
also with his silky smooth jumper. He pulls up
from three-point range and hits with consistency.
He can also put the ball on the floor to take it
to the rack or create space for his jump shot off
the dribble. Buford has been a force at Libbey
since his freshman season. Buford will stay home
as he takes his skills to

Davis is a long and athletic forward that has
developed a combination of effective post moves
with his back to the basket. He can also face up
to the rim and either shoot the mid-range jumper
or score using spin moves, head fakes and a smooth
jump hook shot. He runs the floor well, is quick
off his feet and can really elevate.

maturity by not settling for shots, but rather
being patient and finishing with power dunks every
time he goes up. Defensively, he holds his
position well, which makes him a nightmare on the
boards. He will join a talented

Demar
DeRozan is probably one of the most athletic
players in the class of 2008. Shooting the ball
from anywhere on the court or making highlight
reels with his Lebron like dunks gives him the
ability to score at will. DeRozan brings his
strong competitive nature every game, but more
impressively, he truly is a team player. His quick
first step makes is nearly impossible to keep up
with him and has taken his
Compton
High
School
team from
the bottom to the top. They went from
4-8 to 11-1 and getting national
recognition all behind the spectacular abilities
he has to offer.
He is a friend and AAU teammate of rapper
Romeo Lil Romeo Miller who will also

floor with his size and great understanding of the
game. He started all four years at Farragut and
has been an impact since his first day. He will

of 2008, Devin Ebanks has a rare combination of
ability that allows him to play with his back to
the basket while also shooting the ball well with
range. He maneuvers his way to the basket like a
guard, and possesses great body control. Ebanks is
able to find the open man and deliver the ball
with precision. Given his size and quick first
step he can easily get around slower players. He
uses his great basketball IQ on shot selection and
rarely makes mistakes. On the defensive end he is
quick enough to lockdown smaller guards and big
enough to guard the post player. He will make an
immediate impact at
Indiana
along with last years Jordan All-American Eric
Gordon.

Tyreke Evans has been at
the top of the 2008 recruiting class since he
started playing high school basketball in the
seventh grade. He is a very creative and
consistent scorer that seems to be unstoppable. He
can drive and finish with ease or rise above the
rim. Evans loves to break his man down off the
dribble and pull up for NBA range three-pointers
as his ball handling ability is just as advanced
as his jump shot. Evans has not made his decision,
but there is a host of schools lined up for him to
attend including
Louisville
, UConn,
Memphis
,
Texas
and Villanova are on his list of top five schools.

Drew
Gordon is one of the most dominant power forwards
in the class of 2008 because of his size and
athleticism. Gordon excels at scoring in the low
post but is also a huge presence on the defensive
end. He can get off the floor quickly and uses his
long arms to block and alter shots. Rebounding is
also a great asset for Gordon because of his great
leaping ability and excellent hands. He runs the
floor well and when the ball is around the basket
he is a highlight reel dunk waiting to happen. He
will join a loaded recruiting class for coach Ben
Howland when he attends UCLA in the fall.

One of the top big men in
the class of 2008, JaMychal Green has perhaps the
most physically fit body of all the high school
big men. Green is an explosive player that
finishes strong regardless of contact. He has
great hands and establishes himself in the post
very well. He loves to play with his back to the
basket, but has the ability to step out and knock
down the three-point shot. His demeanor and
attitude are excellent on the court which shows
his passion for the game. Green is a strong
rebounder and often comes up with put back dunks
on the offensive glass. He will stay close to home
and attend the
University
of
Alabama
next fall.

Jrue
Holiday is a poised, smart, mature yet aggressive
shooting guard that can do it all. His NBA
range jump shot, his ability to get to the basket
with great body control and finish with both hands
makes it seem as if the game comes to him easily.
He is ranked in the top 10 of his class not only
because of his offense but his lockdown defensive
capabilities. He uses his quickness to pressure
guards from baseline to baseline, and has the
strength to guard post players and make them
uncomfortable.
Holiday
led his team to an amazing 33-1 last season and a
third consecutive state championship.
He will stay in
California
and join a revived program at UCLA.

Scotty Hopson is an
outstanding guard with the ability to play three
positions. He has the size to be a huge threat at

the shooting guard spot. He is regarded as one of
the best pro prospects coming to the college scene
in his class. Hopson solidified his spot in the
top ten of his class at the
LeBron
James

Academy
camp last summer where he played with passion and
was described as unguardable. He displayed his
explosiveness to the basket and was excellent at
finishing with finesse. He is still undecided on
where he will lace them up next season.

athleticism and the ability to take over a game by
scoring or distributing is making Brandon Jennings
the most recognized player in his class. He is
dangerous shooting the ball from long range either
off the dribble or off a screen. He has
exceptional vision at the point guard spot and his
quickness allows him to easily penetrate the lane
and distribute the ball to his teammates for open
shots. Being mentally tough and a fierce
competitor helps him make great decisions with the
basketball and sets him apart from other guards.
He holds the highest single season point total and
the highest points per game average in
Oak
Hill
Academy
history. He will join what some people call
Point
Guard
University
when he attends the
University
of
Arizona
next fall.

Malcolm Lee is a
lightening quick guard that makes others seem as
if they are moving in slow motion. He can play
both the point and shooting guard position and
makes great decisions at both spots. Lee excels at
shooting the long range jumper off the dribble or
from the pass. He maneuvers through the lane and
finishes with smooth shots or uses his great
vision to find the open man. Lee is probably the
best in the class of 2008 at changing speeds in
the open court and he has the ability to change
direction without losing any speed. He will join
fellow Jordan All-American Jrue Holiday at UCLA
next year.

Greg Monroe is a solid
power forward with refined skills. Monroe, who was
named a Parade Magazine All-American and
Louisianas Mr. Basketball, posses great
footwork that allows him to score in the post as
well as face up to the basket and shoot the
mid-range jumper. He is a nightmare for opponents
on the glass and he uses his body well to get
great position around the basket. On the defensive
end, he is able to step out and guard on the
perimeter while also being a strong presence in
the paint. Not only is he a force on the court,
but he is solid in the classroom as well posting
over a 3.0 GPA in an honors curriculum. He is a
great leader on the floor and will make an
immediate impact at
Georgetown
University
.

B.J. Mullens

B.J. Mullens is a
well-rounded center with all the tools to make it
at the next level. He is a smooth player that has
a very soft touch around the basket. Mullens runs
the floor well and creates a big target for guards
to easily feed him the ball in the post. His great
footwork and skills then take over, leaving the
defender wondering what he will do next. Mullens
likes contact in the post, but also has a nice
touch off the glass. He showed just how much of a
force he could be earlier this season when he can
scored 62 points to go along with 20 rebounds
while sitting out the last four minutes of the
game. Mullens is the second consecutive
Ohio
State
bound center to participate in the Jordan Brand
Classic, following in the footsteps of Kosta
Koufus.

Delvon Roe

Delvon Roe is a true
power forward with the athleticism of small
forward. With a 70 wingspan, Roe has an
extremely quick first step and monstrous leaping
ability. He also possess great footwork in the low
post and often uses drop steps, spin moves and
counter moves before finishing with either hand
around the basket. The left-hander is a dangerous
defender and shot blocker when he isnt using
his size and strength to get position and be a
force on the glass. Roe shows great lateral
quickness that enables him to lockdown smaller
guards. In the first game of the 2007-08 season he
tore his meniscus at the beginning of the game and
still finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Roe
will fit in quite well with the Michigan State
Spartans next season.

Samardo Samuels

Samardo Samuels came
from
Jamaica
for the opportunity to play basketball at a
United States
high school. The highly ranked power forward has
taken full advantage and has led St. Benedicts
Prep to a national ranking each of his four years
in
Newark
. Samuels uses his strength and agility to get his
shots off using an array of moves to get the
defender off balance. He has only been playing
organized basketball for the past four years, but
has developed great ball handling skills and
recently added the ability to shoot from long
range. Samuels has a great work ethic and brings
tenacity every time he steps on the court.
He hopes to one day play in the NBA so that
he will be able to help his family in
Jamaica
. In the meantime he plans to improve his game at
the
University
of
Louisville
next season.

Iman Shumpert

Iman Shumpert went from
not being ranked in the top 100 to being arguably
one of the best point guards in the 2008 class
over one summer. Playing on the travel team
circuit allowed him to showcase his talent at the
top tournaments of the summer. Shumpert is an all
around guard that effectively handles the ball,
distributes with ease and scores at will. He is a
sharp shooter that has range that extends to the
three-point line but is best when pulling up for
midrange shots. Shumperts great length
allows him to have a strong defensive presence
whenever he steps on the floor and but what is
most is impressive is his confidence. Shumpert
will join the Georgia Yellow Jackets next season
in the ACC.

Kemba Walker

Kemba Walker is a slender
guard that is a constant playmaker. His game has
been compared to Chris Paul in the way he makes
spectacular plays seem effortless. He shoots well
and is always in complete control on the court. He
has the ability to change direction and get the
defense off balance and is best when in transition and dishing it off to his teammates.
Walker
also made a name for himself in the historic
Rucker Park Tournament. He scored 39 points in a
game that had to be moved to a college gym to
accommodate the crowd. He is used to being in the
spotlight and will be a great fit for the
University
of
Connecticut
.

Willie Warren is another
guard who can play both the point guard and
shooting guard positions equally. He is a threat
in more than one way and forces the defense to
pick their poison.
Warren
can light up the scoreboard by raining down
jumpers from long range or pick apart the opponent
using his quick dribble to penetrate and dish to
his teammates for easy shots. He loves to get out
and run so he can use his explosiveness to blow
past defenders.

His long arms allow him to be a fierce defender and shot blocker. He is also a strong rebounder on both ends of the floor. Witherspoon uses his quick first step to get past defenders and finish with highflying dunks. He is undecided on his college choice, but has a long list of top programs offering him a spot on their team.

break. He aggressiveness allows him to take over
games. Woods strength has helped him become a
dominant player as well as his great foot speed.
He has the ability to alter so many shots in the
lane and is a force on the glass as well. Woods
will join fellow Jordan All-American Al-Farouq
