From February 21st through
March 3rd, a group from Jordan Brand will travel to
Europe to select 12 players for the inaugural
International Game as part of the Jordan Brand Classic
on Saturday, April 19th at Madison Square Garden in New
York City. The following is a blog and daily photo
gallery from Kevin Foley, who will be along for the
trip.
Rome (February 25):
Today was a travel day for our staff to Rome for
the second stop on our European trip. At
4:45 am, the two mini-buses departed our hotel
for the Vilnius Airport. One bus was
filled with luggage and equipment from our
Jordan film crew and the other with staff.
Dazed and confused, we all made it onto the 6:45
am flight to Copenhagen, Denmark for our
layover. The Copehagen Airport was
extremely nice with a lot of shops, restaurants
and ... well, travelers. It seemed like
everyone was passing through there to get to
somewhere in the world. The flight board
was a 'what's-what' of the world. We
finally arrived in Rome just before 1 pm and
boarded a bus for the hotel. Along
the way, we were able to see some of the
incredible scenery around the city. We are
all looking forward to visiting some of the
historic sites on our day off on Thursday.
After arriving at our hotel for a few hours of
rest, we headed out to meet the players for a
brief welcome orientation and dinner. It
looks like there will be a ton of talent again
in this region -- especially considering there
are a number of near seven-footers. Not
bad for 15-16 year olds. |
