Favors Leads Black Jerseys To
Victory in '09 JBC
April 18, 2009 – Georgia Tech-bound Derrick Favors (South Atlanta High School/Atlanta, GA) earned co-Most Valuable Player honors tonight on basketball’s biggest stage, Madison Square Garden, as he finished with 21 points and five rebounds to lead the Black Jerseys to the 110-103 victory over the White Jerseys at the 2009 Jordan Brand Classic, presented by Foot Locker. Favors was joined by co-MVP Renardo Sidney (Fairfax High School/Los Angeles, CA/Southern California) who had 15 points, seven rebounds and two

Regional and
International Games
The evening began with the second annual International
game, led by Luka Rupnik (Slovenia) with 27 points and
seven rebounds. In the Regional Game, the City All-Stars
defeated the Suburban All-Stars 129-120, led by co-Most
Valuable Player Russell Smith (Archbishop Molloy High
School/Briarwood, NY/Undecided) with 27 points. Smith
was joined by co-MVP Brandon Triche (Jamesville-DeWitt
High School/DeWitt, NY/Syracuse) who had 33 points and

2009 Jordan Brand Classic
Camp in Lithuania
A group from Jordan Brand
traveled to Vilnius to hold a basketball training camp
from March 7-8 to identify the top regional basketball
talent and select 10 MVPs to represent their countries
in the International Game at the Jordan Brand Classic in

The JBC alumni made waves in the NCAA this year.
Twelve of the 16 teams in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen were
represented by a former JBC participant, including at
least two players on each of the No. 1 seeds.
