BackInside Jordan: JBC 2012 – Day 3
Players give back to the community and get honored at the JBC awards dinner
Day three in Charlotte for the Jordan Brand Classic was a day for giving back to the community and celebrating this year’s JBC All-Stars.
Through our WINGS for the Future program, we began the day by hosting a free basketball clinic for youth from the YMCA of Charlotte. At the instruction of pro trainer Alan Stein, the kids ran through drills guided by the JBC teams. From shooting, to dribbling, to going one-one-one with the players, the kids were given time with these future stars that they won’t soon forget.

In the afternoon, we hit the gym again for the last official practice these players would have before taking the court for the big game. Both squads worked on their offensive sets and worked through fundamental drills for their positions.
Players’ families arrived earlier in the day and were later treated to an awards dinner to honor the accomplishments of all of the JBC players. Team Jordan’s own Lee England Jr. wowed the audience with his unique skills on the violin. North Carolina alum and two-time pro champion Kenny Smith also took the stage and talked to the players about making smart decisions and fulfilling their potential.
