Prior to turning professional at the 2013 Travelers Championship, Chris was the top-ranked amateur in the world while playing for the University of Washington. He set the school record with six career victories, and wrapped up his senior year in style as the recipient of the Ben Hogan Award, given annually to the top men's player in college and amateur events. In 2012, Chris won the Western Amateur, was a quarterfinalist at the U.S. Amateur, and received the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the world's top-ranked amateur. A lifelong baseball fan, Chris is one of only a handful of players on tour to use a 10-finger grip.
